Exam Preparation

Facility Preparation

I will need a well lit table for the exam. If I am performing an EKG, please also provide a couch or bed near an electrical outlet.

Paperwork and Information

You must provide a government issued form I.D. Acceptable forms of I.D. are a driver’s license, California I.D. card, or passport. I cannot perform the exam without proper I.D.

Please have available your physician’s name, address, contact information, and a five year history of your past visits. Also provide a five to ten year medical history and any prescribed medications that you are taking.

Physical Preparation

Continue taking any medications as prescribed.

Unless you are diabetic or pregnant, please try to fast four to six hours before the exam. If you are diabetic or pregnant, eat lightly. In either case, drink plenty of water.

On the day of the exam, avoid foods that are high in salt, sugar, and cholesterol. Avoid alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and caffeine. Again, make sure to drink plenty of water.

If an EKG is scheduled, do not put lotion on your body.

Lastly, try to get a good night’s sleep… and relax, I will make this exam as stress free as possible... it will be over before you know it.
